Union Township Police discovered a badly decomposed body in the Willowbrook subdivision on May 11.

Neighbors called officers to the 4621 block of Northridge Drive around 12:17 p.m. Officers responded and found what looked to be human remains, said Anthony Rees, operations commander.

“It’s definitely human. You can’t tell if it’s a man or a woman, the decomposition is that bad,” Rees said. The body has a smaller stature, though, so Rees suspects it may be a woman.

The body was taken to the Hamilton Coroner’s Office, Rees said.

After looking through suspicious missing persons reports in the last six months, the department is currently looking at a couple of situations, Rees said.

If they can locate medical records and give those to the coroner, the coroner may be able to determine who the body is, Rees said.

However, if the department cannot find matching medical information, the case could continue indefinitely, Rees said.
