The retail strip mall located across the street from Jungle Jim’s in Eastgate is getting a makeover. The project includes interchange improvements that will help ease traffic congestion in the area.

According to the website for project developer PEBB Enterprises, Gordmans department store is set to open in the redeveloped shopping center, which will still include Michaels as well as several new retail businesses.

The shopping center, which is located at 700 Eastgate South Drive, and formally known as Eastgate Station Shopping Center, is currently being rebranded as 32 East.

The Clermont County Transportation Improvement District has listed seven I-275/SR32 interchange improvements that will change traffic patterns in the Eastgate area. Project area six, which includes the Eastgate South Drive roundabout, is currently under construction and expected to be completed this summer.

According to the TID website, the project will remove the existing signalized intersection and replace traffic signals with a roundabout that will improve the flow of traffic, enhance safety and reduce congestion.

The estimated construction cost for this project is $900,000.
