BASF, the largest chemical producer in the world, has awarded $4500 in scholarship funds to Chatfield College in recognition of its 150th Anniversary.

Three incoming Chatfield College freshmen will each receive a $1,500 scholarship to offset the cost of tuition at either the Cincinnati Campus near historic Findlay Market or the St. Martin Campus in Brown County, Ohio.

“We are excited about this new partnership with Chatfield College,” said Michael Pcolinski, Vice President for Advanced Materials & Systems Research with BASF. “As the world’s leading chemical company, it is important to us that we support and encourage higher education, including those pursuing an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts.”

The three scholarships begin with the 2015-16 academic year and are available to any Chatfield applicant regardless of age or academic background. Scholarship recipients may also be eligible to apply for a paid summer internship at the BASF facility in Wyandotte, Michigan and future employment at BASF’s St. Bernard facility in Cincinnati.

“We appreciate BASF’s commitment to providing scholarship opportunities to incoming students who would most benefit from Chatfield’s Mission to empower students who might best succeed within our supportive, small college experience,” said John P. Tafaro, President. “When combined with state and federal grants and other scholarship opportunities available only at Chatfield, the BASF scholarships offer students the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree at the lowest possible cost. Chatfield has been recognized as a Best Value School by University Research and Review for two years in a row. These scholarships will give three students a strong start in building successful careers and lives within our community.”
