Milford High School senior David Sheldon announced on Thursday, April 16 that he has committed to continue his academic and athletic career next year at Ashland University as a member of the wrestling team.
Sheldon is one of 13 members of Milford’s Class of 2015 that will compete in collegiate athletics.
Sheldon finished his senior season with a record of 23-12 wrestling at 195 pounds. His win total was good for fourth-highest in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference in his weight class this season.
Sheldon’s efforts at the 2015 ECC Championship helped him earn second team all-conference honors after taking runner-up honors at 195 pounds. He earned honorable mention All-ECC accolades in 2014 after finishing 17-14 overall. Sheldon was also a member of Milford’s football team.
At Ashland, Sheldon will wrestle for third-year head coach Josh Hutchens.
Last winter, Hutchens led the Eagles to a 16th place national finish.
