CCHS MEETING

The CCHS will meet Friday April 17 at 7:30 pm in room S143 , Clermont College, 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia. The featured speaker will be Mary Campbell of the Clermont County Historical Society. On April 9, 1865, General Robert E. Lee surrounded to General Grant at Appomattox Court House, Virginia to end the Civil War. Mary will discuss this meeting and what happened to the men that attended.

The meeting is free and open to the public.

CCHS OPEN HOUSE

The Clermont County Historical Society office, museum, & achieves will be open on May 2 from 1-4 pm. The Williamsburg Historical Society, Harmony Hill, located in the same building will also be open. The building is located at 299 Third Street, turn left on the on the gravel road to reach the building.

An Open House is held the first Saturday of the each month.

LIBRARY DISPLAY

Each year the Clermont County Historical Society has a county history display that rotates among the ten county libraries. The 2015 display features the “Silos of Clermont County.” The display is at the Amelia Library in April. The display is open to the public during the regular hours of the library.

CLERMONT HISTORY DISPLAYS

The Clermont County Collaborate of Historical Organizations and the Clermont County Commissioners have a joint project on Clermont History. The Commissioners have installed a display case in the lobby of the Administration Building, 101 East Main Street, Batavia. Each month a different Clermont County historical organization has a display on county history. During the month of April, starting on Monday the 6th, the Harmony Hill Association (Williamsburg Historical Society) will have a display.
