A ribbon cutting on Dec. 12 celebrated the opening of a new Wendy’s in Amelia Village.

The Wendy’s, which officially opened on Dec. 8, has a new, modern image, said Jim Meadows, director of area operations.

The restaurant was built in a modern style, the equipment is more advanced and even the Wendy’s logo has been updated, though the restaurant still has the same values Dave Thomas had, said Meadows.

“We were excited about being here, we feel that this is prime location in Amelia with the Kroger’s. We are very excited, we’re taking out the old images and bringing in the new image,” Meadows said.

This is another step forward for the village, Mayor Todd Hart said. Hart and the council members have worked hard to bring businesses into the area and Hart is excited to see all the development.

“We’re all about growth in Amelia,” Hart said.

For Michael Paolucci, the president of Select Strategies Realty, this is the culmination of eight years of developing the area where Wendy’s is, all the way to where Little Caesars Pizza is located.

Select Strategies Realty is the company that developed where Wendy’s is and the about 22-acre parcel that Wendy’s is the cornerstone of.

Wendy’s is located at 200 W. Main St. in Amelia and is open from 10:30 a.m. until 1 a.m.
