Taliaferro Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, held their December 13th meeting with a special luncheon in the Historic Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, to honor and welcome their newest and youngest member, Kimberly Coe Dahlheimer, Bethel, into the chapter.

An Induction Ceremony was conducted by Regent, Diana Schwartz and Chaplain, Eileen Beasley. Kimberly’s ancestor, Thomas S. Gadd, fought against the English in the Revolutionary War, 1775, in Baltimore, Maryland.

A workshop was conducted by Cathy Zurbuch, Art Instructor, Georgetown High School, on making a colonial corn shucks doll as our early ancestors did at Christmas for children. This hands on experience was attended by 18 ladies at the meeting.

Members brought new articles of clothing for veterans in the Georgetown Veterans Home for Christmas gifts from the chapter. 32 articles of clothing was collected.

A Memorial Eulogy was conducted by Chaplain, Eileen Beasley, for a recent member, Donna Lunsford, who passed away this past October.
