Air Force Airman 1st Class Ryan D. Sparks graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Sparks is the son of Douglas Sparks of Milford, Ohio, and Penny O’Connell of Lebanon, Ohio.

He is the grandson of Charles Edwards of Clarksville, Ohio.

He graduated in 2006 from Lebanon High School, Lebanon, Ohio, and he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
