Donald C. Moore, Jr., Williamsburg, offered testimony before the Ohio Senate State Government Oversight & Reform Committee on December 3, 2014 at the State House in Columbus, on behalf of the Ohio Association for Justice.
Don testified in opposition to a currently pending bill (SB 344) that would limit our Attorney General’s ability to use outside attorneys to pursue corporations ripping off consumers. Cincinnati Senator William Seitz introduced the legislation to provide transparency in Attorney General contracting, but Moore vigorously testified that the bill goes beyond transparency and instead, handicaps the Attorney General.
Moore explained that the state Attorney General’s office has a limited full-time staff and a limited budget, both of which require the occasional use of private attorneys, especially when very technical issues, such as medical products or securities fraud are involved.
Mr. Moore represents medical malpractice and personal injury clients from his office in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is a third generation lawyer currently practicing with his son, Daniel N. Moore.
