On the week of Tuesday October 28th 30 students from the Felicity FFA chapter attended the 87th National FFA Convention held in Louisville, KY. During the week Felicity competed in the Models of Excellence and Models of Innovation categories.
FFA members Carley Snider, Tristan Asbrock, Erin Jennings, and Emily Woodall competed against ten other chapters for the top spot.
Felicity was also selected to build a booth representing Ohio in the Hall of States. The booth included posters of different aspects of agriculture in Ohio and even had videos of our members and staff showing some fun facts about Ohio.
After watching the videos in our booth, members from different chapters, and even states played a game to see if they were “Smarter than a Buckeye.” After playing the game members won a buckeye keychain hand-made by Felicity FFA members.
During convention students had many new experiences and opportunities. Students toured The Harvest Moon Dairy farm. This tour allowed students to learn about the processing of milk, and included hands on activities with the dairy cows. Students attended a tour at Indiana caverns where they were taken underground on a boat to see different parts of a cave.
Members engaged in the Keynote speakers Nick Vujicic and Jane Herlong where they were encouraged to make the best of life, and follow their dreams. Felicity FFA members enjoyed a concert with Justin Moore and Eastin Corbin.
Felicity FFA member, Tristan Asbrock received a backstage pass to meet Justin Moore. Felicity members attended the Buckeye Bash where they met other members who were also from Ohio.
On the last day of convention three FFA alumni members, Chris Smith, Carley Snider, and Sydney Snider received their FFA American Degrees. Felicity FFA members enjoyed the new experience and excelled in many different parts of the convention.
