Several holiday events will be going on in Clermont County this weekend including Bethel Down Home Christmas, Christmas in the Village in Batavia, A River Village Christmas in New Richmond and the Trains of Williamsburg Christmas Walk.

The Trains of Williamsburg Christmas Walk will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. along Main Street in the village.

The event includes train displays, shopping, crafts, a puppet show, refreshments, and more.

Christmas in the Village in Batavia will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6. The event will feature horse-drawn wagon rides, refreshments, prizes for children and a visit from Santa.

“Everyone enjoys it and has a good time,” Batavia Mayor John Thebout said about the event. “It’s a nice Christmas celebration for the community.”

Bethel Down Home Christmas will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 with Breakfast with Santa at Bethel-Tate High School. The event will include activities throughout the village including a craft show, an opportunity to make a ginger bread house, raffles, and parades.

A River Village Christmas will include two days of activities during the village’s bicentennial celebration year.

On Saturday, Dec. 6 there will be activities from 10 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.

Activities will include the Santa Paws Parade, an indoor and outdoor train display, a petting zoo, Christmas carols and a performance by Donna Chapel.

“There is a new interesting train display at the Bandstand area,” Linda Shuck, one of the event organizers, said. “It’s interactive so people will have the feeling of being on the train.”

Shuck said shops in the village will be open during the event.

There will also be events on Saturday, Dec. 13. Activities will run from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. and will include a Holiday Open House at the library, train displays, crafters at the Cardboard Boat Museum, the tree lighting and more.
