Miami Athletic Club is hosting a Pedal to the Finish spinning event on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014.

Pedal to the Finish, presented by SELF, is a grassroots program benefiting the American Cancer Society that motivates people to fight back against cancer through volunteer-organized spinning events.

About half of all men and one-third of all women in the United States will develop cancer during their lifetimes. The risk of developing many cancers can be reduced by changes in a person’s lifestyle. Pedal to the Finish is working to educate people on how they can prevent cancer while raising funds for important research to find cures.

Miami Athletic Club has room for additional participants who register for the event and is open to the public. The day’s activities will include a 1-hour ride, great instructors, fun motivating music and refreshments. Participants can choose to ride at either 8:30 am or 9:30 am. Miami Athletic Club invites the public to support the event by registering at www.PedalToTheFinish.com/MAC or calling 513.831.0006 for more information

“We are proud to open our facility and host a Pedal to the Finish event. The event is a fun way for us to motivate our members and community to be active for an important cause,” states Kris Stapleton, MAC owner.

“The awareness and support raised through Pedal to the Finish events will go a long way toward helping the American Cancer Society’s commitment to its lifesaving work,” says Diane Perillo, Program Manager Pedal to the Finish, “We are so thankful for the support of Miami Athletic Club and its commitment to help finish the fight against cancer.”

Pedal to the Finish is a cause marketing awareness program operated by Condé Nast – a premier media company that publishes magazines such as SELF, Bon Appétit and Glamour. Condé Nast is honored to facilitate the Pedal program on behalf of the American Cancer Society to help raise awareness and support for its mission to fight back against cancer.

The American Cancer Society is a global grassroots force of more than three million volunteers saving lives and fighting for every birthday threatened by every cancer in every community. As the largest voluntary health organization, the Society’s efforts have contributed to a 20 percent decline in cancer death rates in the U.S. since 1991, and a 50 percent drop in smoking rates. Thanks in part to its progress, nearly 14 million Americans who have had cancer and countless more who have avoided it will celebrate more birthdays this year. As ACS celebrates over 100 years of service, they are determined to finish the fight against cancer.  The American Cancer Society is finding cures as the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit investor in cancer research, ensuring people facing cancer have the help they need and continuing the fight for access to quality health care, lifesaving screenings, clean air, and more.  For more information, to get help, or to join the fight, call ACS, day or night, at 1-800-227-2345 or visit cancer.org.
