Mercy Health – Cincinnati, which provides advanced, compassionate, quality care in your neighborhood through its care network, teamed up with the American Cancer Society to host Relay For Life events throughout Cincinnati over the summer.
Teams from Mercy Health – Cincinnati hospitals, including The Jewish Hospital, Anderson Hospital, Clermont Hospital, Fairfield Hospital and West Hospital, joined other teams in their communities walking and running to raise funds at five different Relay For Life events which raised over $200,000.
The American Cancer Society has put this money to work, investing in groundbreaking research in every type of cancer and providing free information and services to cancer patients and their caregivers.
Relay For Life is an organized, overnight community fundraising walk. Teams of people camp out around a track and members of each team take turns walking around the track to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. A wide array of food, games and activities provide entertainment and build camaraderie, making the Society’s Relay For Life a family-friendly event for the entire community.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraising event and it has grown into the world’s largest movement to end cancer. Mercy Health joins the Society in celebrating the 400 lives cancer care saves every day by partnering to host neighborhood events that raise awareness about what we can do to reduce our cancer risk and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease.
