A man was arrested after he attempted to steal multiple cars and being involved in two car accidents in Franklin Township Oct. 6.

According to Clermont County Sheriff A.J. “Tim” Rodenberg, Zebulon Fletcher, 32, of Bethel stole a car in Colerain Township and crashed the car near state Route 756 and Fruit Ridge Road in Franklin Township.

After crashing the stolen car, Fletcher stole a 73-year-old woman’s car who had driven up on the crash site, according to police. The woman was not injured in the crash.

Fletcher drove the women’s car a few hundred feet and caused another crash involving two more cars that resulted in injuries to two people.

The crash left the stolen car inoperable, and Fletcher walked back to the elderly women’s location and attempted to steal yet another car.

That car belonged to a man who got into a fight with Fletcher and along with other witnesses at the scene were able to subdue Fletcher until police arrived.

Fletcher was arrested and charged with one count of robbery, a second-degree felony, and resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Fletcher remains incarcerated at Clermont County Jail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 3 p.m. Nov. 13 in front of Judge Kevin Miles.
