A day after robbing a bank in Batavia Township, police arrested a man who demanded money from a teller at the Fifth Third Bank in Batavia Township Nov. 4.

According to Clermont County Sheriff A.J. “Tim” Rodenberg, police responded to the bank located at 1196 Ohio Pike.

Rodenberg said the robber handed a note to the teller indicating he had a gun. The robber then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was harmed during the incident at the bank, and police released surveillance photographs of the robber to the public.

The next day, police arrested the man, Timothy Jones, 43, of Pierce Township, and he was charged with one count of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

“I am extremely proud of the exceptional teamwork performed by our investigative unit that resulted in a timely and successful closure of this case,” Rodenberg said.

Jones remains incarcerated at Clermont County Jail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 3 p.m. Nov. 12 in front of Judge George Pattison.
