Robert Taggart, 73, of Felicity, died Oct. 19.

Taggart was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and devout Catholic. He was a kind, generous person who made everyone feel welcome.

Taggart met the love of his life and proposed at Coney Island 50 years ago on August 22, 1964. He was the Comptroller and VP of Becker Drugs for many years and enjoyed the local family business The Felicity General Store and Tag’s Diner.

He was a true Irishman with the gift of gab, often telling jokes and stories of his special leprechaun O’Toole and memories of traveling to Ireland and kissing the Blarney Stone. He loved gardening and being on his farm. He was a supporter of 4-H, FFA and the Farm Bureau. He treasured family vacations and big family gatherings. Most of all, he loved having his family around him.

He is survived by his wife Constance “Connie” Taggart, children Shawnna (Todd) Dunaway, Tracey (Rich) Barsczewski, Kelly (Dan) Hughes, Molly (Jen Cunningham) Taggart and Ryan Taggart, grandchildren Mackenzie, Collin and Luke Dunaway, Maya and Cole Barsczewski, Audrey and Evan Hughes, sister Nannette Bender and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Angenette Taggart.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Oct. 24 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Bethel and 11 a.m. Oct. 25 until noon Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Church in New Richmond. Memorials to the church or Franklin Township Fire and EMS.
