Scan/fax stations are available at two more Clermont County Public Libraries: Milford/Miami Township and Amelia. Also, the system now offers notary service.

Patrons have been using scan/fax stations in Goshen, Union Township and Bethel since April.

Amelia patrons use these stations often, said Branch Manager Beth Lammrish. One family recently came in to fax a document, not realizing they also needed it notarized. Lammrish said they were pleased that a library staff member also could help them with that step.

Staff members certified as notaries are at the library administration office, 326 Broadway St. in Batavia; Milford/Miami Township Branch, 1099 Ohio 131; Amelia Branch, 58 Maple St.; Owensville Branch, 2548 U.S. 50; and Union Township, 4450 Glen Este-Withamsville Road.

The notary service is free.

The cost to scan is 10 cents per page in black and white or color. To print, pricing is the same as the public workstations: 10 cents for black and white copies and 30 cents for color. The cost to fax one document is $1 and 50 cents for each additional page.

Cash is required to use the stations, George said.

Patrons can scan items to their cloud accounts, a USB flash drive, Google Docs, email, smartphone or tablet, he said. Or, they can fax documents.

The remaining five libraries are expected to offer the scan/fax service by the end of 2015.
