The boys’ soccer season is over in Clermont County.
Bethel-Tate was the last team standing, facing Summit Country Day in the Division III sectional final on Monday, Oct. 20, but the Southern Buckeye Conference National Division champions fell to the defending state champions, 5-0.
Bethel finished the season 14-3 and claimed their first league title since the 2009 season.
Elsewhere in Division III, No. 22 seeded Clermont Northeastern fell to Summit in the first round of the sectional, 9-0. The Rockets finished the season with a record of 2-14-1.
Felicity-Franklin lost to Mariemont in the first round, 8-0. The Cardinals wrapped up a 2014 campaign that saw the team go 3-13.
The SBC-American co-league champions, Batavia, fell in their opening game of the tournament, a sectional semifinal, to Indian Hill, 3-0. The Bulldogs, who were 7-2-1 in the conference, shared the league crown with Norwood. They finished at 10-6-1.
Other local Division II teams, Goshen and New Richmond both lost first-round contests. Goshen was 2-11-1 and New Richmond was 8-6-2.
Among the three Division I teams, Amelia and Milford both won their first games of the postseason. Amelia took down Hamilton 4-1 in the first round before bowing out at the hands of No. 2 seed St. Xavier 6-0. The Barons completed their season in third place in the conference and with an overall mark of 11-5-2.
Milford scored a 2-0 win over Northwest in the first round of the sectional before falling to Lakota West, the No. 3 seed, 3-0. Milford finished the season tied for third in the Eastern Cincinnati Conference and with a 7-7-4 overall record.
Glen Este, the other Clermont County Division I school, lost their sectional semifinal match against ECC rivals Turpin, 3-0.
The Trojans were winless this season in 17 matches.
