Kevin Smith of LobstaBakes in Newtown pulls a steamed lobster from a pot at a Living Spaces Cooking Class.
Kevin Smith, a native of Swan’s Island, Maine has spent the last 22 years in Cincinnati.

He recently shared his passion for seafood cooking with guests at a cooking class held at Living Spaces Custom Designs in Batavia.

Smith, who currently owns and serves as Chef for LobstaBakes located in Newtown, spent an evening sharing his passion for cooking by demonstrating how to prepare Jumbo Crab Cakes, Curried Crab Salad, Seared Tuna, and steaming a lobster.

Maine Blueberry Pie topped with vanilla ice cream completed the class for the evening.

Smith spends most of his time catering New England style Lobsta Bakes and Barbecue’s to backyard parties or special events.

In addition to Smith and LobstaBakes, Living Spaces Custom Designs is hosting upcoming cooking classes with Rita Heikenfeld of Jungle Jim’s Eastgate and Jeff Day, Executive Chef with AVI Food Systems.

Heikenfeld will present “Chill Chasing Pantry Soups for Fall – in Under an hour.” Heikenfeld’s class will include three different types of soups.

Day will present “New Fall Favorites” that include an Apple/Cinnamon Roasted Pork Loin.
