What has turned into one of the most popular bands in the Union Township Summer Concert Series, Robin Lacy and DeZydeco will once again close the season with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Union Township Amphitheatre, 4350 Aicholtz Road, Union Township.

The need for fresh musical inspiration and a cover story on Buckwheat Zydeco in Rolling Stone magazine led Robin Lacy to New Orleans in 1988. Having been a full-time performer and musician since 1973, Robin felt the Midwest music scene was wearing thin. Classic rock looked to be the only prospect for keeping his group together and working steadily. There had to be a better way.

So, he was Louisiana bound. When the car door opened in the French Quarter, it was love at first sight, sound, smell and taste.

Taking the lesson learned from the roots of New Orleans and Louisiana music and culture, Robin has added his own original songwriting and classic crowd pleasers to the mix, keeping a diverse and unique playlist.

The music and Robin’s showmanship are two main reasons this band is one of the most popular in the entire region, so bring your family and friends and get there early for this last concert of the season – this will be a packed event!

This concert is free and open to the public. U-Lucky Dawg will be on hand with gourmet hot dogs.
