Playing in the Dog Days soccer tournament for the last time as a team, the Beechmont Soccer Club Eagles came home as champions in the girls U14 age group. The next time this tournament is played these girls will be preparing for their freshman season on their respective high school teams.

Led by a potent scoring attack and a very stingy defense, the girls finished the weekend undefeated going 4-0, outscoring the opposition 19-1 overall.

The Lady Eagles took down squads such as the Cincinnati Soccer Alliance, Tri State Futbol Club, Northern Kentucky Soccer Academy and the Eastside Ball Hogs

In the opening half of the final match, the girls found themselves up a goal early after a very nice counter attack and some unselfish passing. An additional goal would also be scored before the half to give the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead at the break.

Throughout the remainder of the game the Ball Hogs had a scoring opportunity denied by help defense in the box and a second chance would ring off the crossbar and into the arms of the keeper.

The Eagles will kick off their league schedule in September and will see additional tournament action throughout the region.
