UC Clermont College will be expanding its athletic offerings to include men’s and women’s soccer in the fall of 2015. Each team will include approximately 18 players.

“We’ve had a lot of interest in bringing soccer to UC Clermont. The Greater Cincinnati area is a hotbed for soccer programs so this is a natural fit to expand our already successful athletic programs to include men’s and women’s soccer, “ said Dean Gregory Sojka. “ We know that athletics and extra-curricular activities are part of a holistic collegiate experience and major draw for some of our students,” added Sojka.

The UC Clermont Cougars participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). UC Clermont Athletics includes women’s volleyball, men’s & women’s basketball, baseball and softball. The Cougars have been successful —bringing home national championship titles in men’s and women’s basketball and baseball. In addition, the volleyball and softball programs have been ranked nationally and have been highly competitive in national tournament play.

Interested players may contact Athletic Director Brian Sullivan at brian.sullivan@uc.edu or 513-558-1559.

The college is also seeking to hire a qualified head coach for each of the programs. The play will be highly competitive competing USCAA and NAIA schools with an approximate 16-game schedule. Home games will be played at area high schools or at Jim Bushman Memorial Park in Batavia — also the home of UC Clermont’s baseball and softball teams.

For those interested in the soccer coaching job, the college is looking for a head women’s and head men’s coach to recruit and select high-level student athletes, to assist the athletic director in building a competitive schedule and with knowledge of and adherence to USCAA conference rules and procedures.
