Brian Rope, 57, of Terrace Park, has died.

Rope enjoyed countless hours at Camp Stepping Stones and the community swim center. The experience helped him with his achievement of gold in the Special Olympics. He volunteered with the United Way and volunteered more than 5,000 hours with Cincinnati Police Department. He was named was awarded a “Key to the City of Cincinnati,” by Mayor Charlie Lunken. He later volunteered at Milford Fire Department.

We all appreciate the incredible generosity shown to Brian by the many people in these organizations and can’t thank you enough.

Rope is survived by his sister Lisa, brothers Ron and Alan, step-mother Carol, in-laws Sue Rope, Robert Wilson and Theresa Tuohy and numerous other relatives.

He will also be missed by his family at the Benton Center who extended their love and care for him over a significant portion of his life.

He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Loveless Rope and later his father William Funelle Rope.

Memorial gathering 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. services July 28 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia. Memorials to Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and Columbus designating the Benton Center.
