The Hamersville Flash 14U Gold Team coached by Shawn Whisman had a great finish to their 2014 Summer Season.

On the 4th of July they played in a big tournament at Rumpke Park with top teams like the Flames, Cincinnati Baseball Club, At the Yard, Haubner and others. The Flash finished in first place beating At the Yard in the finals.

The Flash then went on to Lebanon, Tenn. to play in the CABA World Series that had teams from Massachusetts, Washington, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio and other states.

They had six pool play games before advancing to the elimination round. The Flash played in the “Pool of Death” as after pool play four of the top eight seeds in the World Series were in their pool. Two of these teams finished in first and second place in the World Series. The Flash beat one of the top select teams in Tennessee, the Showtime Prospects out of the Nashville area. Three of the Flash’s losses came to the Tennessee Knights — winners of the World Series made up of a roster of players from five states — and the Tennessee Bruins, who finished in second place in the World Series.

The Flash finished in the top-12 in the CABA World Series.

The Flash took about a week off and finished the season at a tournament in Hillsboro where they finished in second place.

The Flash had another outstanding season and finished first or second place in the majority of the tournaments they played in.

The Flash will be holding a tryout on Aug. 10 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Flash Complex.

Anyone interested in the tryout can call Shawn Whisman at (513) 532-4408 or Renee Whisman at (513) 532-4410 to register.
