Child gun safety class to be held

The Union Township Police Department will host a Gun Safety Class for children from ages six through 13 from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 19, in the training room at the Police Department, 4312 Glen Este-Withamsville Road.

The class will be approximately two to three hours long and will cover topics including the safe handling of handguns, shotguns and rifles, as well as the nomenclature of these guns.

The class will be taught by the agency’s certified firearms instructors and gun armorers and will not include the firing of any weapons.

This class is open to the public and free of charge. Donuts, juice and coffee will be provided. To register for the class, please contact Sergeant Tony Rees at (513) 753-2247.
