Rachel Burnett, recipient of the Chatfield College First Generation Scholarship with Jessica Brown, Admissions Representative at Chatfield College.
Chatfield College, a private, Catholic, liberal arts college granting the Associate Degree in rural Brown County, Ohio and Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, has awarded a Chatfield College First Generation Scholarship to Rachel Burnett, a recent graduate of Goshen High School.

Rachel was one of 16 area high school students who are the first in their families to attend college to receive a Chatfield College First Generation Scholarship.

The scholarships are made possible by a grant from the Coca Cola Foundation. Chatfield is the only college in the region to receive this grant and is one of only 400 colleges across the country offering Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarships. Fewer than 10% of U.S. colleges have received this grant and are able to award these prestigious scholarships.

The scholarships are full-tuition for use in the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 terms at Chatfield College.

“Chatfield is committed to serving a community of both traditional and non-traditional learners, many of whom are the first in their family to attend college,” said John P. Tafaro, Chatfield College President. “We are delighted to offer a Coca Cola First Generation Scholarship to Rachel, and we are looking forward to seeing her begin her college education with us in the fall.”

Since 1993, The Coca-Cola First Generation Scholarship program has awarded over $36 million in scholarships, reaching more than 2,800 students on campuses throughout the U.S.
