Union Township Trustees are looking into making improvements to the pond at Veterans Park in Union Township.
Administrator Ken Geis said the pond is in need of extensive repairs including bank enhancement and the addition of a retaining wall.
He said he has received proposals between $70,000-$100,000 for the project, but requested trustees allow him to put the project out to bid.
“I really think that putting that out for bid and combining materials and labor cost will be the best way to do that,” Geis said during the June 12 trustee meeting.
Trustees approved the request to put the project out for bid during the meeting.
Geis said trustees can decide whether or not to move forward with the project once they receive the bids.
He said the money would come from the general fund.
