A motorcyclist was killed in a weekend crash in Goshen Township.

John Bennett, 59, of Batavia, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that involved another vehicle, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post.

Police said the crash took place around 1:39 p.m. June 15 on State Route 28 at the intersection of Linton Road.

Bennett was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle east on SR 28 and Iris Boone, 59, of Milford, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala east on SR 28.

After investigating, police believe Boone was attempting to turn left and Bennett traveled left of center in an attempt to pass Boone on the left.

The motorcycle struck the Impala and Bennett was ejected from the motorcycle. Both vehicles traveled off the north side of the road.

Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Clermont County Coroner. Boone was transported to Bethesda North Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Bennett was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Boone was wearing a seat belt.

Alcohol or drug impairment has not been determined. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post continues to investigate the crash.
