On April 26 and 27 the Flash 14U Gold National Team played in a tournament at Rumpke Park with teams from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

Missing a third of their team who are playing high school baseball right now, the Flash 14U Gold made it to the finals again.

On Day One, they played the Red Stockings Elite and got a great pitching performance from Mason Stanley out of Hillsboro. The game was tied and Mason Stanley got a walk off hit in the last inning to win the game.

Stephen Krause had a big double.

In Game Two on Saturday, the Flash played the Brighton Bull Dogs out of Michigan, and scored 13 runs in the first inning.

Dylan Whisman knocked in two runs on a base hit in the first inning then came up again as the Flash batted around. Whisman’s second at-bat resulted in a bases-loaded double. He knocked in three more runs to take his inning total to five.

Stephen Krause had three RBI in the first inning. Evan Baugh continued to give a stellar pitching performance in the tournament and stayed hot at the plate.

Baugh was 3-4; Jantzen Smith was 3-4; Whisman and Ander Kohrs went 2-3.

On Sunday the Flash Gold played Flash Blue in the semifinals and won 8-2.

Once again Baugh went 3-3 and Kohrs was outstanding pitching. The Flash were running out of pitching and lost in the finals to finish as runners-up in the tournament.

On May 3 and 4 the Flash 14U Gold played in a tournament at Rivershore Park in Kentucky.

The Flash lost in Game One that ended in a tie. The game went to a California shootout because of time limit.

The Flash the played the D.C. Attack out of Kentucky and won 16-0.

The Flash got a great pitching performance from Whisman and a big home run on a mammoth shot over the fence by Andrew McKibben.

Smith went 2-2 and Baugh went 2-4 in the game.

The Flash came back on Day Two for single elimination and played XBA Baseball and got an outstanding pitching performance from Baugh.

His pitching was dominant in the game. The Flash then had to play a top seed the Lumber Company out of Tipp City and won that game 4-1.

Kohrs had an outstanding pitching performance and held the good hitting Lumber Company to just one run in a complete game win for Kohrs.

Once again, Baugh was 2-2 in the game and Whisman was 2-2. Hunter DeWeese got a huge hit in the game as well as Smith and Nate Bogan.

Kyle Blaha and Kohrs also had huge hits, Kohrs’ hit to left was a smash that scored a run. Nate Bogan, Andrew McKibben and Stephen Krause continued hot hitting and driving the baseball for the Flash all through the tournament.

The Flash lost in the finals as their pitching was running out, as early in the season the Flash has several players playing high school baseball who are not available to play with the Flash until their season is over.

Another great tournament for the Flash 14U Gold National team.
