The Clermont County Public Library Board of Trustees will welcome a new member June 9.
Tony Cardinal of Miami Township served on the board from 2001 to 2013 and was appointed May 12 by Clermont County Court of Common Pleas Judge Richard Ference to replace Thomas Mantel, who resigned because of health concerns. Cardinal will serve until Dec. 31, 2017.
“I am honored and flattered to be coming back to the board,” Cardinal said. He enjoyed working on numerous projects in the past and decided to rejoin the board because there is “still lots of things to do and I want to be a part of moving forward with the Clermont County Public Library system.”
“We welcome him back and look forward to his continued service,” said Joe Braun, library board president.
“Mr. Mantel has been an integral part of the library’s Building and Facilities Committee and contributed a great deal to the Union Township Branch construction project. Mr. Braun has asked Mr. Mantel to remain as an emeritus member of the Building and Facilities Committee and I am glad to hear that he has agreed to do so. Mr. Mantel joined the board of trustees in January 2011,” said Chris Wick, library director.
The next board meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday, June 9, at the Union Township Branch, 4450 Glen Este-Withamsville Road.
