Just a couple weeks after the bicentennial kick-off in New Richmond, the village will host a concert and parade on Armed Forces Day May 17.
Concert organizer Ralph Shepherd said the May 17 concert will feature Kenner Express.
He said they will also be having a parade prior to the concert to recognize members of the military on Armed Forces Day.
Shepherd said the Marine Color Guard and the New Richmond Veteran Color Guard will be participating in the parade.
Shepherd said the parade will line up outside of the Cardboard Boat Museum on Front Street around 6 p.m. He said they will begin marching down Front Street at 6:15 p.m.
“We welcome all veterans to walk,” Shepherd said.
He said they would like to have other groups and organizations to participate in the parade as well.
Shepherd said the bandstand will be the location of the concert, which will begin at 7 p.m.
“The bandstand is really pretty,” Shepherd said. “We have it all fixed up for the bicentennial.”
The village will be having more than one dozen concerts this year including performances from the Anderson Community Band, Ohio Military Band, the Bicentennial Choir, Big Monday Night Band, the Clermont County Festival Chorale, and more.
