The Clermont County Historical Society will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 18 in room S143, Clermont College, 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia.

The featured speaker will be Greg Roberts of the New Richmond Historical Society. He will speak on the Civil War “Buffalo Soldiers” and their connection to New Richmond. The meeting is free and open to the public.

The Clermont Historical Society has a county history display that rotates among the Clermont County Libraries. The display this year features the Confederate General John Hunt Morgan’s Raid through Clermont County. During the month of April the display will be at the Goshen Library.

Photographs of the restoration of the Stonelick Covered Bridge are taken every other week and posted on the web-site. In addition copies of articles on local history that have appeared in past Newsletters are posted. New articles are added on a regular bases. There are over a thousand historical photos on the web-site.

The Clermont County Collaborative of Historical Organizations and the Clermont County Commissioners have a joint project on Clermont County History. The Commissioners have installed a display case in the lobby of the Administration Building, 101 E. Main Street, Batavia. Each month a different Clermont County historical organization has a display on county history. During the month of April the New Richmond Historical Society will have a display. The display is available for viewing during the regular hours of the Administration building.
