Scott O’Reilly of Batavia enjoys working out on the new free weight benches at the Clermont Family YMCA.
Members of the Clermont Family YMCA are excited about new equipment upgrades made at the branch, located at 2075 James E. Sauls, Senior Drive in Batavia.

Over $50,000 worth of new equipment has been purchased to help members reach their health and wellness goals.

The new equipment includes a diverging lateral pull down, free weight benches, and a decline bench.

“The pull down has a great smooth movement that really isolates the muscle groups,” said Catherine Bundy, a personal trainer at the Clermont Family YMCA.

Each piece of new equipment is ergonomically correct, so that even your thumbs can rest comfortably. Target muscle groups are better isolated with illustrations that help ensure proper alignment for all.

“I really love the adjustments,” said Patty Grigsby of Amelia. “The illustrations are so easy to follow.” Joe Holland of Fayetteville is enjoying the new repetition and activity counters.

Many of the new pieces of equipment are more compact than what was previously available, allowing better room flow-through and space utilization.

Scott O’Reilly of Batavia said he most enjoys the new free weight benches, while Jacob Florez of Williamsburg enjoys the back extension equipment.

Carley Hiles of Fayetteville is looking forward to bringing her dad to work out on the new equipment. “He will love the changes, after he tries them,” she said.

The Y is committed to programs and services that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
