UC Health is looking to build a nearly 500,000 square-foot primary care facility on Chamber Drive in Milford, according to City Manager Jeff Wright.

Wright updated Milford City Council members on the progress of the project during their March 4 council meeting.

Wright said Cincinnati United Contractors, the company working with UC Health, expressed interest in the property between Verizon Wireless and Quaker Steak & Lube in Milford.

Wright said UC is interested in using the property to build a primary care practice.

He said the company has submitted proposed building plans for the site, which must be approved by the Milford Planning Commission before the project can move forward.

“The Milford Planning Commission will discuss the proposed building at their meeting March 12,” Wright said.

Wright said they are hopeful that the commission will approve the proposed building for the area.

“It would be a great addition to that area,” Wright said.

He said if the building is approved, the contractor plans to move forward with construction pretty quickly.

“If the project goes forward it would open before the end of 2014,” Wright said.

UC Health has 20 internal medicine and family medicine primary care practices throughout the Greater Cincinnati area including downtown, Fairfield, Harper’s Point, Mason, Montgomery, Tri-County, and more, according to the UC Health website.

Each location provides a variety of healthcare services including illness care, preventative screenings, injury treatment, and more.
