Clermont County Commissioners designated March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month during their Feb. 26 session.

Several representatives from Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities, including Terry Lewis and Jason Vogel of Union Township, Clermont DD Superintendent Sharon Woodrow, Assistant Superintendent Dan Ottke and Director of Communications Lisa Davis, attended the meeting to talk about the month of awareness.

According to Davis, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is celebrated each year in March and recognizes the accomplishments of individuals with developmental disabilities in the county.

Ottke introduced Lewis and Vogel, who are invovled in programs with Clermont DD and also roommates in a new home opened by the organization.

“We could think of no better guys to represent Clermont DD and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month,” Ottke said.

In addition to recognizing individuals in the community, Clermont DD will also be working to educate the public about the programs and services offered at the organization as well as thank businesses and organizations who have helped support their programs.

“We just want to thank commissioners for the proclamation,” Ottke said.
