Southern State Community College announces the opening of a new GED preparation site in Bethel.

Through its Adult Opportunity Center, the college will begin offering its GED prep classes from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the US Grant Career Technical Center, 718 W. Plane St.

The newest location is one of three in Clermont County. Classes are also offered at University of Cincinnati’s Clermont College, 4200 Clermont College Drive, Batavia, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon or from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and at Clermont One Stop (Workforce One), 756 Old State Route 74, in the Eastgate area, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon or 1-4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

SSCC’s Adult Opportunity Center provides Adult Basic and Literacy Education classes on each campus and at several off-campus locations.

The program is offered free to any individual who is at least 16 years of age (those under the age of 19 have additional requirements). All books and materials are provided, and no fees are charged for instruction.
