Martha Johnson
Martha Joyce Johnson, 70, of Amelia, died Feb. 6 with her family by her side.

She taught school for more than 30 years in Ohio, Tennessee and Louisiana hoping to inspire the young to reach for the stars and believe all dreams possible.

Her greatest loves were her family, pets, love of reading, cooking and teaching. She created a reading room and a library at her senior home in Amelia to share her joys.

Johnson is survived by her children Katherine Crouser and Jodie Skinner, grandchildren Kara “Shayne” Niemet, Christopher West and Cory “Kayla” Parker, great-grandchildren Jaden and Madison and siblings Viola Stimec, Charlotte “John” Alexander and Ernest Johnson, 59 nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Catherine and Ernest Johnson, sisters Rosalind Glenn and Shirley Younts and daughter Joyce Ann.
