Sherri Carbo, Southwest Ohio Liaison for Governor Kasich, visited Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services (GCB) on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Carbo had contacted GCB Chief Vocational Officer Alicia Fine to request a visit after hearing of the agency’s vocational programs which provide supportive employment for persons with severe mental illness.

Carbo was met by members of GCB’s Management Team. The group, led by CEO Jeff O’Neil, gave her an overview of the comprehensive services GCB offers to Southern Ohioans with mental illness. She was interested in helping facilitate continued communication between GCB and various state agencies whose programs are aimed at improving the lives of Ohioans dealing with mental health issues, as well as key state-level policy makers.

“I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the GCB team and learning about their comprehensive programs that serve the greater Cincinnati region,” said Ms. Carbo of the visit. “I look forward to working as a liaison between GCB, the Governor’s office and the various state agencies whose initiatives will benefit Ohioans dealing with mental health issues.”
