Michael Richardson
Michael Richardson, of Union Township, has been convicted by a jury of eight counts of Rape, four counts of Gross Sexual Imposition and three counts of Felonious Assault.

The charges stemmed from sexual conduct that took place between Richardson and three of his nephews. The victims were four, seven, and 10 years of age at the time of the sexual abuse.

The prosecution successfully utilized closed circuit technology to allow two of the victims to testify against Richardson, while permitting them to testify outside of the courtroom.

Additional expert medical testimony was provided by Dr. Robert Shapiro, Medical Director Mayerson Center Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Additionally, the prosecution presented testimony from a licensed social worker who treated the three, and diagnosed them all with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder stemming from the abuse at the hands of their uncle.

Detective John Pavia of the Union Township Police Department handled the investigation. The prosecution was handled by Assistant Prosecutor Scott C. O’Reilly and Assistant Prosecutor Lara Baron of the Clermont County Prosecutors Office.

The jury returned a verdict of guilty on all counts, six of which carried life sentences. Richardson will be sentenced Feb. 13, 2014 by Judge Richard Ferenc.
