The Clermont County Engineer’s Office has announced that a significant portion of the improvement work taking place along Clough Pike has been completed for the season, and the road has been re-opened to two-way traffic.
“Our work to improve safety and travel along Clough Pike is moving along right on schedule,” said Clermont County Engineer Pat Manger. “We appreciate the patience drivers have shown while various road closures were in place throughout the course of this work,” Manger continued. “There are a few remaining items to be completed, such as sidewalk work, and some improvements outside of the roadway itself. We will continue this work into the new year as weather allows, but for the most part, we have completed our improvement work for this season.”
Manger noted that construction will resume in the spring to complete the improvements taking place between Terrace Drive and Gleneste Withamsville Road. At that time, traffic on Clough Pike will once again be restricted to one-way westbound (from Gleneste Withamsville to Ivy Pointe Boulevard). The Engineer’s Office will provide notice to drivers as that date nears.
Traffic pattern changes and the related improvements are part of the Clough Pike Widening Project. The Clough Pike project will add a third travel lane along a 1.3 mile section of Clough Pike, between Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road and Glen Este Withamsville Road. A center turn lane will be added, as well as a sidewalk along the north side of the road. Upgrades will be made to nearby traffic signals, and drainage improvements will also be completed along the project corridor.
The Clough Pike Widening Project will reduce congestion, and improve safety for drivers.
A new sidewalk will provide better pedestrian access to schools, churches, parks and other destinations in the area. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2014. The project is being managed by the Clermont County Transportation Improvement District, with support from the Clermont County Engineer’s Office.
