The Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau has appointed Mark Calitri as Executive Director.

Calitri served the past eight years as Director of Sales for Winegardner and Hammons, widely recognized as one of the most prestigious, top ranked hotel management companies in the U.S.

Bureau Board Chairman Jim Comodeca says the hiring of Calitri signals a renewed direction for the organization. Calitri has been selected to spur increase public awareness of the travel and tourism opportunities within Clermont County.

“By stimulating interest in area events, attractions, parks, and overnight lodging; the result is economic growth for our communities,” stated Comodeca. “In our search for the right leader it became obvious Mark has the passion, drive and experience to bring growth and expansion to our organization.”

Comodeca also expressed his appreciation for the work and dedication of Chris Smith, who served as Bureau Interim Executive Director during the past year, “Smith established a solid foundation of stability and an infrastructure for future success.”

David Uible, Vice President of the Clermont County Board of Commissioners, believes Calitri is committed to creating a positive economic impact and greater community prosperity. “His goal is to market and promote the valuable assets of Clermont County,” stated Uible. “Sporting events, recreational attractions and historical, business, and cultural venues all generate visitors to our county and overnight lodging in our communities. This in turn will produce more revenues through sales tax, lodging tax, gas tax, and stimulating additional retail sales.”

Calitri has a rich history in community involvement serving on the Board of Directors and Membership Committee Chair for the Covington Business Council, which has increased membership 55 percent in the past three years. He attended Eastern Kentucky University, earning a degree in Business Management.
