Carl Irwin Trees, 89, of Lebanon and formerly of Laurel, died Oct. 8.

Irwin received his engineering degree from University of Cincinnati, he served in the 13th Armored Division in World War II, was a member of the Moscow Masonic Lodge 122 and the Scottish Rite, New Richmond American Legion and New Richmond Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Trees is survived by his wife Peggy Bercaw-Trees, children Carl (Kathy) Edward Trees and Janet Lee (Butch) Monson, step-children Terry (Nancy) Bercaw, Dave (Tonya) Bercaw and Jeff (Carol) Bercaw, grandchildren Keith (Crissy) Trees and Michele (Oliver) de los Angeles, step-grandchildren Beth (Jim) Batka, Mason, Tommi, Josh, Hannah, and Emily Bercaw, great-grandchild Jade Lynn Trees and step-great-grandchildren Noel, Aron, Rachel and Meghan Batka and sister Pauline (Larry) Jegley.

He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Jean Trees and siblings Eugene (Ruby) Trees and Donald (Mary) Trees.

Visitation 5-8 p.m. Oct. 13 with Masonic services at 7 p.m and funeral services 1 p.m. Oct. 14 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in New Richmond. Interment at Laurel Cemetery.
