Carl P. Mills, 61, died Aug. 15.

Mills grew up in Madisonville and graduated from Withrow High School. He attended the University of Cincinnati and was proud to serve with the Firefighters Union as an Anderson Township firefighter and paramedic. He served on the Firefighters Association and the Firefighters Union and as a volunteer for the annual MDA drive. He was proud of his involvement with the Anderson Festival and fund-raising for the Firefighters Memorial Park.

He loved sports, traveling, music and photography. He was a professional photographer and many of his works were presented in art shows and festivals throughout the tri-state.

He was also a member of Eastgate Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam era where he was assigned to the U.S.S Canberra.

He is survived by his siblings Daniel (Julie) Mills and Kim Mills and nephew Ryan Mills.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wilma and Carl Mills, sister Beverly Mills and nephew Bryan Mills.

Visitation 2 p.m. Aug. 18, and services 1 p.m. Aug. 20 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home followed by interment and military honors at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
