Black Tent Productions, an award winning video production company, has recently relocated from Cincinnati to a new office on Front Street in New Richmond.

“There’s a really cool vibe in this new space, it’s very creative,” Creative Director Steve Kirschner said. “We have a great view of the river. We love it.”

Since the move to New Richmond, the company has already worked closely with the Historic New Richmond organization to create a pro bono video to raise awareness about the village’s upcoming bicentennial celebration. The video was created to be used with social media to bring in more volunteers and donations for next year’s event.

Black Tent produces website videos, sales demos, and even television commercials for clients such as Fortune 500 companies, Procter and Gamble, and Toshiba, among others. Black Tent also serves globally. Kirschner said he has been to Australia, Rome, and Helsinki for different projects.

“Right now, big things are happening in the video production industry,” Kirschner said. “Pretty much every company is interested in putting videos on its website. Customers would rather watch a video and see a product in action instead of read a lot of technical information about it.”

With new technologies, it can be deduced which parts of a video were skipped, where videos were stopped, and which parts we watched a second time. This information helps companies such as Black Tent to increase the quality of the video and hold the attention of viewers throughout.

Black Tent was recently named a winner of a Summit Creative Award. The Black Tent website says the SCA “has firmly established itself as the premier arbiter of creative excellence for firms of this size and has become a coveted honor.” There were more than 5,000 submissions this year from 25 countries.

“We’re really excited that we won this award,” Kirschner said. “It says a lot about our company that we were able to come out on top over many of our competitors.”

“What separates us from our competitors is our creative resources,” Kirschner said. “There is more to making a video than picking up a camera and recording.”

In addition to shooting the videos, Black Tent offers full creative development, video production, and post-production services as well as storyboarding, scripting, and casting.

“There are some great businesses moving to Clermont County and we’re very proud to call it our new home,” Kirschner said. “We look forward to doing great things for the local business community.”
