Live Oaks/Milford JROTC sweeps drill competition

The Live Oaks/Milford JROTC Color Guard and Drill Teams won all four first place trophies awarded at the 4th annual Western Brown JROTC Color Guard and Drill Team Meet held on the Western Brown campus in Mt. Orab April 6.

In the competition, each unit commander had to memorize between 40 and 50 commands and march their team around a 40 by 80 foot area utilizing the maximum space while keeping them within the boundaries.

Battalion Commander Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Katie McCracken was the Advanced Color Guard commander, Cadet Command Sergeant Major Cody Cooper commanded the Squad Unarmed Drill Team, and Cadet Private First Class Danielle Hogan commanded the First Year Color Guard.

In addition, several students won individual medals. Cadet Captain Bryan Long of Milford won the individual Knock-Out Drill trophy, Cadet PFC Alisha Bennett of Live Oaks/Animal Science from Goshen took the second place medal and C/PFC Danielle Hogan, a junior in Health Technology at Live Oaks, from Milford won the 4th place medal.
