Woman dies after crash in Stonelick Township

A woman was killed in a car crash on U.S. 50 March 16.

The Batavia Highway Patrol Post is investigating the crash, which took place at approximately 8:59 a.m. March 16.

According to a release from the highway patrol, preliminary investigation reveals that Elizabeth Jasper, 38, of Batavia, was driving a Honda Pilot east on U.S. 50 and traveled off the right side of the road.

After leaving the road, her vehicle struck a ditch and then vaulted off a driveway into a tree.

Jasper died from her injuries at the scene of the crash, according to the highway patrol.

She was wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.

The crash remains under investigation by the Batavia Highway Patrol Post.
