Bethel Village Council members discussed applying for a Community Development Block Grant to replace the bridge on Spring Street in the village.
At the March 14 council meeting, administrator Travis Dotson said council would have to pass a resolution before their next meeting to apply for the grant.
Councilwoman Donna Gunn, a member of the finance committee, discussed the grant with council members.
Gunn said they would apply for the CDBG grant to replace the bridge on Spring Street in the village.
She said the improvements would cost around $119,000.
“Much of which would be covered by the CDBG grant,” Gunn said.
She said they have been having problems with flooding in that area, and hope the improvements would solve those problems.
“It is one of the areas when it rains hard that there is a bottleneck,” Gunn said. “This would hopefully help.”
Council members passed a resolution to apply for the grant at the meeting.
