Man arrested for theft of AC units

The Miami Township Police Department has arrested Benjamin Z. Miller, age 23, of 5720 Hilltop Way, Milford, and charged him with twelve felony counts for the theft of multiple commercial air conditioning units. Miller was caught by police at 8:23 a.m. Monday, Feb. 18, with several stolen AC units in his possession. The units had been dismantled and prepared for sale to local scrap yards.

The AC units that Miller had this morning were taken from several businesses located in a shopping center at 471 Wards Corner Road. Miami Township Police are investigating to see if Miller is responsible for thefts in six other cases that have been reported to them over the past two weeks. Police have not charged Miller with those thefts.

Miller was charged today with three counts of Theft, three counts of Vandalism, three counts of Breaking and Entering, and three counts of Receiving Stolen Property. All of these offenses are fifth degree felonies.

He was taken to the Clermont County Jail.

Miller was recently released from prison in Ohio. He had been serving a sentence for theft from a 2008 case in Miami Township.
