Retiring West Clermont superintendent Gary Brooks received special recognition from the House of Representatives recently.

House District 65 Representative John Becker presented a certificate that commended Brooks for his “illustrious career in the field of education.” Becker said that it was an honor for him to present the award to Brooks. “He is a mentor and a friend.”

Brooks has been an educator in the West Clermont District for 31 years. He was named superintendent of the approximately 9,000 student district in 2004.

“You have enthusiastically demonstrated your profound commitment to education, revealing a wealth of energy and expertise, and without question, you have been on the Ohio’s most precious assets,” the certificate stated.

Brooks was appreciative of the recognition.

“It’s been a great pleasure to serve the West Clermont District as an educator,” he said. “I have enjoyed every minute.”
