Joseph Middeler, 92, of New Richmond, died Jan. 28.
Middeler was a businessman for more than 40 years, was a member of St. Peters Church for 92 years, a member of Knights of Columbus for 50 years and was a former member of the RiverHills Bank Board of Directors. He was also a member of the draft board during the Vietnam War, a U.S. Postmaster for 30 years and a member of many other civic and community organizations.
He is survived by his children Joseph (Denise) Middler Jr., Judy Ann Middeler, Joyce Louise (Mac) Webb and Janet Marie (Paul) Bishop, grandchildren Andrew and Anthony Webb, Jennifer (Rodney) Slone, Katie Middeler and Ann Bishop, great-grandchildren Addison Rose Slone and Olivia Kiden Slone, siblings Marquerite Ferguson, Katherine Barton, Mildred Hoh and Rosemary (Tom) Tewes and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rose Ann Middeler, siblings Helen (Bill) Woodruff, Dorothy (Bill) Hayes and Thomas (Nancy) Middeler and siblings-in-law Floyd Barton, Babe Hoh and Paul Ferguson.
Visitation 4 p.m. Jan. 31 at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia and services 10:30 a.m. Feb. 1 at St. Peters Church in New Richmond. Interment at St. Peters Cemetery. Memorials to New Richmond Food Pantry or ALS Foundation.
